Benalmadena is perfectly situated for golf providing easy access to all of the Costa Del Sol's golf courses.

The 3 nearest courses are:

Torrequebrada Golf:

Designed by Spain’s most famous golf architect Jose Gancedo, he has used the contours of the region to produce a course where each hole is individual.

Torrequabrada opened in 1976 & has hosted many top tournaments – including the Spanish Open.

It is a case of ‘he who dares…’on this quite difficult track, with water hazards on 9 holes, numerous strategically placed bunkers, 8 dog-legs & then there is the wind!
Nicknamed locally as the ‘beast’ the course is situated between the Mediterranean sea and the mountains and is rich in tropical vegetation and birds.

With a hotel on the premises, in addition to the usual range of facilities includes a pool and casino.

Alhaurin Golf Club:

Alhaurin has an 18 hole par 72 course designed by Seve Ballesteros, a 9 hole par 3 course bordering a beautiful lake & an 18 hole junior course. Situated between Mijas & Coin on the road from Fuengirola to Alhaurin el Grande, the course has majestic views of mountains to the north & Africa & the Med to the south. Facilities include driving range etc + riding & tennis.

The main golf course is of international quality with many challenging holes set amongst natural terrain, which includes pine woods & many hazards. Accuracy & course management are therefore important with wayward tee shots likely to be punished.

Mijas Golf:

A 2 course complex with both having been designed by Robert Trent Jones in their own individual styles & opened in the mid-70’s. Still one of the busiest venues on the Costa del Sol, golfers of all levels will find something to suit them with a great club house atmosphere which has added to its popularity.

Los Lagos [the lakes] has plenty of variety with its wide fairways and greens, exotic Araucalia pines & perfumed jacaranda trees & very little rough but lots of water [7 thirsty water hazards].

Los Olivos [the olives] is tighter, not as long but the tougher of the two courses. It has been completely refurbished with the greens having been enlarged by up to 50 percent, improved tees and the lake area that effects the sixth, seventh, eighth and eighteenth holes has been entirely rebuilt. The greens are beautifully kept and the course never fails to disappoint.

There are various package trips available via many operators, however, in our experience it can often be more convenient and cheaper to have your flights, accommodation and golf course/fees booked individually.

You will also have the peace of mind knowing that after a hard days golfing you can return to a comfortable "home away from home" to relax and re-charge your batteries.

if you are taking your family you can also be certain that they wont be fed up waiting for you to return as there are many things to do due to the convenient location of the apartment - it is not built on a golf course!
